10 do’s and don’ts for your Brand’s Facebook Page.

Facebook is an incredible platform for expanding your business and connecting with your customers and followers. With a user base of more than a billion people, there is always scope for expansion when it comes to businesses.
However, probably the biggest advantage Facebook offers to businesses and brands is to create a following and image through pages. To keep your brand’s page trending and interactive for your followers, here is a list of Do’s & Don’ts that you must follow:

DO’s

Post Interactive Content: By posting interactive photos, posters, videos, polls, etc. you can create interactive content on your Facebook page that will not only drive more users towards your page, but would make them stay.

Target Status Updates: Facebook lets you target your status updates and posts by age and region demographics. Using this feature you can select a target audience and get the maximum responses and interaction on your post.

Post Diversified Content: By changing your content on a regular basis you increase the chances of more people getting interested in your content and page. By posting updates such as how-tos, trivia, news, multimedia, etc. you can provide relevant content to your followers.

Track Post Performance: By using Facebook insights you can keep a track of the performance of your posts. This can help you in creating better posts and analysing the performance of your page.

Connect your business website to your page: You can place a signup button to your blog or a direct link to your website directly on your Facebook page to drive your followers on Facebook to your business blog/website.

 DON’Ts

Don’t post automated Status Updates: You don’t have to post all of your blog updates or twitter updates automatically to your Facebook page. By posting automated content, you miss out on connecting with your Facebook audience, that requires a personalized attention.

Posting Spam Content: Posting irrelevant third party content, sharing spam content, etc. is incredibly frowned upon by followers and leaves a negative image in the minds of your audience. Avoid posting any kind of spam content on your face book page.

Linking Facebook Ads to your Page: The more ads people see on your page, the more disconnected they feel. By linking Facebook ads to your page, you turn off a potential user base to your page which might not like the absurd amounts of ads that are visible on your page.

Turing off user comments: To run a successful Facebook brand page, you need to receive feedback from your audience. You should not turn off user comments as it gives off an impression that your brand is not open to any kind of feedback.

Sending Mass Messages: Facebook pages should never send mass messages to their followers, since most of the times these messages are going to be ignored. However if you do have to send a message, make sure that it provides something of value to the reader.

Facebook offers a great potential to brands for increasing awareness and value, and should be used in a manner that is of benefit to their audience.
